Before founding VVFI, Dr. Dial worked with a bright 11-year-old who struggled with confidence in math and science. Through one-on-one mentoring and hands-on STEM projects, this student discovered her passion for coding. "I learned I could do hard things," the student shared. "She taught me that making mistakes was part of learning. Now I'm teaching other kids how to code!"

Two siblings, ages 10 and 12, attended several weekend STEM activities. Initially quiet and reserved, they blossomed through regular mentoring and hands-on learning. Their mother noted, "This program didn't just teach them science – it taught them to believe in themselves. They've become more confident in everything they do."

A 13-year-old participant in the early STEM workshops arrived with curiosity but limited exposure to technology. Through guided projects and consistent encouragement, he developed an environmental monitoring project using basic sensors and coding. "Before this camp, I never thought I could build something that could help my community," he reflected. "I learned how STEM could solve real problems."
